Content Creation Workflow

We want to spread the word about what we are building, and why!

This workflow has the following ideas in mind:

There should be an approval process before we publish important and permanent content

Anybody on the team should be able to create content for our main site and social media

The team should have an opportunity to give feedback before something is broadly published

The process should be pretty lightweight, so there is not too much friction to public content creation

    Blog Posts and Videos

Every piece of major content (blog post, video) should go through the following steps.

This process is public, but it is more of a safe space to decide our mainstream messaging before it gets promoted to a broad audience.

      1. Draft

If you want to initiate a blog post or a video, publish it on the "Develop" site under Untitled Document

This can be an idea with a single line of text, a rough draft, or it may be nearly ready to publish.

Videos meant for the Youtube channel can also be published here first. Upload to your personal channel as "unlisted", and embed it into a post draft.

      2. Wait for Feedback

In most cases we are not in a rush to publish content, so please wait one business day to give the team some time to read and provide feedback.

All feedback should be considered by the original author but it does not necessarily need to be resolved.

      3. Request for Approval

For now, I suggest that all of our blog posts and videos should be approved by our CEO before it "goes live".

Create a comment tagging Gabo H Beaumont saying that it is ready for review. Then he can approve, request changes (or in extreme cases, explain why the post is not a good idea right now).

      4. Publish

Once approved, the main author of the post can branch the document to the official Blog.

If it is a Youtube video, publish it on the public channel (all founders have the ability to do so). The description should be drafted already as part of the HM doc.

Once published on YT, update the draft post with the new YT embed link, and then branch the document to the blog. This way, all of our videos will appear on the blog and it will be a central location for the main SHM messaging.

Then please post about it on at least one of our social channels (see below).

Ideally, you are proud about your post, and it should be posted on every social channel!

    Social Media

We have many social media channels that are linked from our home page and they will be very useful to drive traffic to our content. This is more casual than our blog so there isn't really a process.

        Youtube

        Twitter/X

        Bluesky

        LinkedIn

        Discord

        Even Github!

If you have access to the social accounts, you are welcome to post. If you want access, ask around! Or ask somebody else to create the posts.

Of course, you are representing the company! So please:

Be kind, polite, and follow the code of conduct (obviously)

Avoid being divisive. Stay away from controversy!

Try to use approachable language. Don't use fancy LLM vocabulary, avoid too much technical jargon unless you're in a technical context

Don't say things as a fact unless you are 1000% sure that it is a fact

Try to be humble, while still showing passion and excitement

If you are unsure about any of this, just use your personal profile to participate in discussions!
